Bike # 9

1999 Kawasaki KLR650 Dual Sport

In March of 1998 I was put into the Hospital intensive care unit

for blood clots in my right leg and put on Cumadin to thin my blood.

The doctors told me I shouldn't be riding motorcycles any longer due to the danger

involved. So I was convinced to sell my Gold Wing, which was kinda sitting anyway.

The last 2 years were spent building and racing Corvettes but one day I got the motorcycle

bug again. I thought what the heck. Dying while enjoying something I love is a whole lot better than

dying from a stupid blood clot in my leg or in some hospital bed.

So I bought another motorcycle. I had missed that wind in my face and the freedom we all

enjoy when riding! I also thought I'd get some exercise while I was at it, as well.

So I bought a dual sport bike.

I even put a new Super-Trap muffler on it to give it more power. Ha!

That was a mistake! I wasn't as young as I thought I was.

It was just too much bike for me in the sand. I just couldn't handle that off-road

stuff any more. Not like I used too!
