About this time I became the President of the Old Car Council of Colorado, which governed

all the Classic and Antique Car Clubs in the state of Colorado.  Here I am ram-rodding the Annual

Rolls Royce Ascot Picnic. I was also the President of the Rolls Royce Owner's Club this year.

As you can see it was definitely in the 70's, check my hair! Ha!

This "little event" was held on one of my clients "back yard"! Covering about 30 acres!

We had several hundred Rolls there that day, a direct TV link to London, where they

were holding a sister event at the same time. Lunch was "Lobster Thermador".

Just a typical weekend! Ha

Here was the car I drove that day.

Car # 30

My 1923 "Swiss, Aluminum body" Rolls Royce

(a one-off hand made car)

Notice the HUGE driving light in the front. This moved from side to side with the steering.

The big straight 6 cylinder ran smooth as a Swiss watch but being a right hand drive and non-

synchromesh transmission it wasn't the most fun car to drive. Except for people's reactions

when they saw you driving down the street in it. A real crowd pleaser! The hump box deck

on the back contained a wicker basket full of picnic items: bone china plates, crystal wine

goblets, solid silver place settings and hand made fine linen napkins. Of course the interior was

done in Red Australian Leather as well. And the back seat always had a Red Rose in the

crystal "bud vase" that hung on the side curtains.

Car #31

was my 1949 Bently Sedanca

This fine driving saloon had beautiful breakfast tables built into the back of the front seats,

a crystal decanter bar, sun roof and ran extremely well on the open road. This photo was

taken at one of the many car shows I attended with this beauty.

Car # 32

was a 1950 Rolls Royce Executive Saloon

I only had this one for a few weeks. It was purely an investment car

and was sold quickly for a bit of a profit. Way too big for me!
